Located between Sky Pilot Mountain to the northeast and Brunswick Mountain to the south, Furry Creek is an extremely accessible neighbourhood, Furry Creek is located off Highway 99 only 25 minutes from West Vancouver, and 45 minutes to both downtown Vancouver and Whistler Resort. The recently completed Sea-to-Sky Highway offers unsurpassed ocean views, in addition to bringing Furry Creek closer to the North Shore, Squamish and Whistler.
 
Demographic
 
Single-family homes are the main household type in Furry Creek, with the neighbourhood in a great location for schools, amenities and transit. The average benchmark for a property in Furry creek is between $1 and 2 million. This area also has an extremely low crime rate.
 
Residential Housing
 
The current Official Community Plan (OCP) calls for the 1,036 acre Furry Creek neighbourhood to see the potential construction of 920 homes, with a population base of approximately 2200 people. A key feature of the development plan is to retain approximately half of Furry Creek’s lands in a natural state, allowing its residents to continue to enjoy spectacular views of Howe Sound and the coastal mountains.
 
Recreation
 
Furry Creek Golf and Country Club is a par 72, 18-hole golf course, and a main attraction in the area, owned and operated by Golf BC. Located just north of Vancouver on the Sea-to-Sky Highway, it is known as ‘BC’s Most Scenic Golf Course’, featuring some of the most spectacular scenery on the west coast. Also nearby is the gorgeous Porteau Cove Provincial Park, another great spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Camp along the waterfront, scuba dive down to an old ship, or enjoy a selection of water spots on the Howe Sound waves.
 
Restaurants
 
The Furry Creek Golf and Country Club is also home to the popular Sea to Sky Grill restaurant. Open seasonally between March and October, it’s one of BC’s most scenic dining spots, serving the best in West Coast cuisine and is acclaimed for its Sunday Brunch service in particular. Horseshoe Bay is also a 20 minute drive away, and home to a great selection of eateries, including Troll’s Restaurant, serving world-famous fish and chips, Italian restaurant, Bay Moorings, Olive & Anchor and the Boathouse Restaurant.
 
Shopping
 
If you’re a golf enthusiast, the store at Furry Creek Golf and Country Club sells a wide selection of men’s and women’s golf and leisure wear, accessories, and rental equipment. The biggest area for shopping is a 20 minute drive away at Park Royal, with over 200 stores and services. Nearby Horseshoe Bay is also packed with lots of unique gift shops and boutique stores, including popular store, Lalli Loves It. Convenience stores in Horseshoe Bay include Bay Market and Bayview Convenience, as well as Subway, Freshslice Pizza and Baskin Robbins. There is also a Safeway located a short drive south past Horseshoe Bay on Headland Drive.
 
Schools
 
Furry Creek is part of the West Vancouver Secondary School catchment, with the closest schools being Ridgeview Elementary School and West Vancouver Secondary School, which offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate program. If you’re willing to travel a bit further, private schools in the area include Island Pacific Elementary School on Bowen Island, an hour’s drive, and Collingwood Secondary School, a 30 minute drive.
 
Transportation
 
Although Furry Creek is accessible via West Vancouver’s Blue Bus service, a lot of residents are car owners since they are able to get around faster by car. Furry Creek is located off Highway 99 and just a 45 minutes to downtown Vancouver and Whistler Resort.
