Location
 
Situated at the western edge of West Vancouver, Gleneagles is just south of Whytecliff Park. It is also a short drive to Lions Gate Bridge, Horseshoe Bay and Highway 1. Many properties in the area are located close to amenities, including the Gleneagles Community Centre, tennis court, Seaview Walk and Horseshoe Bay.
 
Demographic
 
Home ownership in Gleneagles is high, with a split of 92% owning property, and 8% renting in the area. Although the Gleneagles area is great for all kinds of households, couples are marginally the largest group, making up 45%. Families, who occupy 41% of Gleneagles homes, tend to have two children at home, with a large percentage being young children.
 
Residential Housing
 
The majority of houses in Gleneagles are detached, many of which offer spectacular views to Passage and Bowen Islands. While most houses are older (pre-1980s), there have been some new developments in the area.
 
Recreation
 
Gleneagles is conveniently close to lots of amenities for residents to enjoy. Directly adjacent to the neighbourhood is the Gleneagles Golf Course, a popular attraction for residents and visitors alike. The Par 25 course was voted one of Canadian Golf Magazine’s best 9-hole courses in Canada. Gleneagles Community Centre is also a great place to get active, get creative, or relax with friends, running a range of regular activities and events. Other popular amenities in the Gleneagles area include the Gleneagles Adventure Park. complete with dirt jumps and stunt zones for mountain bikers and BMX riders, as well as the Thunderbird Marina, just a few minutes drive from Gleneagles.
 
Restaurants
 
After a day of golfing, you can enjoy dinner at the Appleback Grill in the Gleneagles Clubhouse. The casual family dining space is open seven days a week, and a great place to sit back and relax, overlooking the golf course. Another popular local dining spot is Hugo’s Restaurant, located in Eagle Harbour with stunning views. Hugo’s also hosts live music from local artists every Thursday and Saturday. Horseshoe Bay, a two minute drive from Gleneagles, is another popular location for eateries, and include Olive & Anchor, Bay Moorings Restaurant, and Troll’s Restaurant, as well as convenience food stores, C-Lovers Fish and Chips, Starbucks and Baskin Robbins.
 
Shopping
 
As well as offering a great selection of restaurants, Gleneagles’ neighbour, Horseshoe Bay also has a great selection of stores for shopping, with a range of unique gift shops and boutique stores such as Dayal’s Variety Store, Lalli Loves It and Presence Trading Co. Just a few minutes down the highway from Gleneagles, residents can also shop at the conveniently located Caulfeild Village Shopping Centre. With over 25 shops and services, there is something for everyone, including a large Safeway, conveniently close for grocery shopping. A little further on at Marine Drive is IGA Marketplace.

Schools
 
Gleneagles is a great place to live for families, with a variety of fantastic schools in the area. Gleneagles Chaxay Elementary on Marine Drive offers a range of extracurricular activities, including choir, track and field, and ultimate Frisbee. Older students living in Gleneagles can choose to attend the nearby West Vancouver Secondary School or Rockridge Secondary School, both approximately a 10 minute drive.
 
Transportation
 
With Gleneagles being a short drive from popular neighbourhoods, including Horseshoe Bay and Caulfeild, many residents choose to own cars. There are also various TransLink buses and West Vancouver Blue Buses serving Gleneagles, so owning a car is not essential.
