Location

Indian Arm is a scenic fjord which extends 18 km north of Burrard Inlet, and past Deep Cove at the eastern edge of the District of North Vancouver. Nearby neighbourhoods include Lynn Valley, Seymour Heights, Capilano and Deep Cove.
Demographic

The neighborhood attracts people from all walks of life, Indian Arm is made up largely of families (40%), with singles and couples both accounting for 30%. The majority of residents are aged between 30 and 54, and approximately 61% of residents have children living at home.

Recreation

Renowned for unsurpassed fishing, kayaking, canoeing and scuba diving opportunities, Indian Arm is a nature lover’s dream. Dozens of sailboats are moored in the harbour at the nearby Deep Cove Yacht Club and in good weather kayakers and canoers are out enjoying the sunshine air. Deep Cove is also home to the Deep Cove Cultural Centre, which home to two theatre companies, the Deep Cove Heritage Society and the Seymour Art Gallery. Hiking the Baden-Powell Trail is also a great recreational activity. Overlooking the Indian Arm at Quarry Rock, the trail starts in Horseshoe Bay running all the way to Deep Cove.
 
Restaurants and Shopping
 
The nearby village of Deep Cove offers a commercial core with dining and shops. Although the area is not overwhelmed with too many shops or eateries, residents prefer it this way, keeping the village quaint and peaceful. Popular stores and restaurants include gift store, LaLa’s, clothing store, A’hoy, and jewelry store, Room6, while restaurants include The Arms Reach Bistro, the perfect spot for brunch, lunch or dinner, Deep Cove Pizza, and possibly Deep Cove’s best-loved eatery, Honey’s Doughnuts Not far away, the Dollarton Village offers groceries and other services, and further west you can also find Parkgate Village Shopping Centre, home to various stores including Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart, Cob’s Bread, among many more stores, cafes and restaurants.
 
Schools
 
The closest schools to Indian Arm are located in the central Lonsdale area, which is home to several schools, including Cove Cliff Elementary School and Saint Pius X Elementary School, and Seycove Secondary School, where most older students usually attend. Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School is also just a 10 minute drive from the Deep Cove neighbourhood.
 
Transportation
 
By connecting up with Mt. Seymour Parkway, residents of Indian Arm can quickly be on their way to all that North Vancouver has to offer. Regular buses run in and out of nearby Deep Cove, and Highway One is also a short drive from there.
