The Lower Lonsdale neighbourhood is home to various recreational spaces, including the popular John Braithwaite Community Centre, North Vancouver’s first multi-purpose facility, which offers over 35,000 square feet of social, recreation and general community-use space. Jack Loucks Court is also a great public space that includes water fixtures, seating and five public art installations. The City of North Vancouver is also in the process of developing the waterfront area into the Spirit Trail, linking various communities in the North Shore, with the path from Deep Cove to Horseshoe Bay already complete.

Whatever your preference when it comes to dining out, Lower Lonsdale has a wide selection. Many of the most popular restaurants in Lower Lonsdale have waterfront locations around the Lonsdale Quay Market, including Tap & Barrel, Burgoo Bistro, The District Brasserie, and The Lobby Restaurant at Pinnacle at the Pier. Further north along Lonsdale Avenue, residents can find a range of other restaurants and cafes, including Two Daughters Bakeshop, Fishworks, Thai House Restaurant, and West of Java.
 
Shopping
 
The main shopping area in Lower Lonsdale is the Lonsdale Quay Market, featuring a fresh food market, specialty shops, a kids’ play area, and a hotel and spa. You’ll find everything else you need along Lonsdale Avenue, the main north-south artery of North Vancouver, home to a wide variety of specialty stores, including Crocodile Baby Store, hunting and fishing store, Highwater Tackle, Pearson’s Home Hardware, and Ayoub’s Dried Fruits and Nuts. And if that’s not enough, Capilano Mall, which is home to over 90 shops and services, including a Walmart and BC Liquor Store, is just a short drive or bus ride away.
 
Schools
 
A popular area with families, Lower Lonsdale is home to a wide variety of schools, including Ridgeway Elementary, the closest school for younger children, and Sutherland Secondary, the closest for high school students. The neighbourhood is also popular place for many private post-secondary learning facilities, including the Aspire Preparatory Academy, Can-Quest ESL Academy, the Academy of Learning College Business and Computer Campus and the Beijing Chinese School.
 
Transportation
 
If you need to get to downtown Vancouver, the Seabus is easily accessed from the Lonsdale Quay Market, running every 15 minutes on its regular schedule. Several buses also run in both directions on Lonsdale. Thanks to its wide variety of parks and trails, many amenities are also accessible via foot.
