Pemberton Heights is nestled south of the Capilano area of North Vancouver, north of both Pemberton and Hamilton, east of West Vancouver and west of Central Lonsdale. Nearby neighbourhoods include lower Capilano Marine, Capilano, Lions Gate, Norgate, Highlands, Handsworth and Delbrook.
 
Demographic
 
The biggest household group in the Pemberton Heights neighbourhood is couples, with many families also attracted to the area. 86% of residents are homeowners, with just 14% renting. The average age of residents is 40, with the largest group of residents being the over 50s. Approximately 56% of residents are married.
 
Residential Housing
 
Pemberton Heights is comprised almost exclusively of single family detached houses, making it extremely popular with families, since many North Vancouver neighbourhoods are experiencing a rise in new condo developments. Recreation
 
If you enjoy being outdoors and nature, the nearby Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is home to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which stretches across the nearby Capilano River where visitors can explore the area’s forested trails, or stop by the popular Capilano Salmon Hatchery at the top of the river. During July and August, nearby Edgemont Village also hosts a free live concert series, which is extremely popular with residents. Other popular attractions in the area include Grouse Mountain, where you can ski, ride the gondola or hike the Grouse Grind, as well as Murdo Fraser Golf Course and Capilano Golf and Country Club for golf enthusiasts.
 
Restaurants
 
There are various dining options in the Pemberton Heights neighbourhood, with a tonne of choice at the nearby Edgemont Village. Popular choices here include neighbourhood bistro, The Canyon Restaurant, Nobu Sushi, serving authentic Japanese cuisine, as well as convenience food stores such as BjornBar Bakery, Subway and CoCo Froyo. Marine Drive also has a wealth of eateries and cafes for residents to choose from, including De Dutch, C-Lovers Fish & Chips, Boston Pizza and The Hurricane Grill.
 
Shopping
 
The Pemberton Heights neighbourhood is great for shopping, with the Park Royal Shopping complex, and the many businesses located along Marine Drive all within easy reach. Park Royal Shopping Complex is less than a 10 minute drive, home to over 275 shops and services, from home furnishings stores like Anthropologie and Home Depot, to fashion and shoe stores, like Banana Republic, Roots and Vans. In late 2004, The Village was opened as an expansion of Park Royal South, and boasts Vancouver’s first Salomon store, the first Pinkberry frozen yoghurt shop in Canada, and the best Whole Foods Market in North America, among other stores. Marine Drive is home to a number of specialty stores, as well as being a convenient place to pick up groceries, home to Pricesmart Foods, Save-On-Foods and Iran Supermarket. You will also find Capilano Mall along Marine Drive, which is home to over 90 shops and services and conveniently includes a Walmart and BC Liquor Store.
 
Schools
 
Pemberton Heights is within walking distance of two of North Vancouver’s best schools, Capilano Elementary which is very centrally located to the neighbourhood right off of Pemberton Ave and Carson Graham Secondary, both of which offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate program.
 
Transportation
 
With a walk score of 70, Pemberton Heights is the 5th most walkable neighborhood in North Vancouver, with several amenities easily accessible by foot. The neighbourhood is also extremely close to the Lions Gate Bridge and is located right off of the Trans-Canada Highway, providing direct access to the rest of North Vancouver and Downtown Vancouver, and major areas like Lonsdale and Capilano.
