Queens runs along Queens Ave, parallel to the Trans-Canada Highway, across the centre of West Vancouver. Nearby neighbourhoods include Whitby Estates, Ambleside, Caulfeild, Dundarave and British Properties (The Properties).
 
Demographic
 
A neighbourhood home to far more single-family detached homes than condos, the majority of Queens residents are homeowners, with 87% owning property versus 13% renting. A large proportion of households are occupied by families, many with children still living at home, and the area is also popular with couples. Approximately 42% of residents are over the age of 50.

Queens is located in a great location to enjoy various recreational activities in the area. Ambleside Park can be reached by car in five minutes, and is home to tennis courts, swimming facilities and a golf course, in addition to exciting community events, including the Canada Day celebrations and Harmony Arts Festival. Ambleside Beach also offers jogging trails, sailing facilities and picnic tables, as well as fishing at Ambleside Pier. Other recreational spots nearby include Dundarave Park, home to a 50 metre beach and marking the start of the Centennial Seawalk, and West Vancouver Memorial Library, conveniently located along Marine Drive.
 
Restaurants

Shopping
 
Marine Drive is the most convenient place for shopping in the Queens area, home to a range of independent shops as well as conveniently featuring a Marketplace IGA and Shoppers Drug Mart. The Animal Medical Hospital is situated on Bellevue Ave, just a short walk from Marine Drive, where you can also find Dundarave Dental Clinic. And if that’s not enough, Park Royal Shopping Centre is a 20 minute walk or five minute drive away and home to over 275 shops and services, from home furnishings stores like Anthropologie and Home Depot, to fashion and shoe stores, like Banana Republic, Roots and Vans.
 
Schools
 
One of the reasons Queens is such a popular neighbourhood with couples and families is because it is located within walking distance to the popular West Vancouver Secondary School. Adjacent to West Vancouver Secondary is the Kay Meek Centre for the Performing Arts, a multi-use cultural centre with two stages that offer a variety of musicals and plays for all ages. Elementary schools in the area include Irwin Park Elementary, Ecole Pauline Johnson Elementary and Ridgeview Elementary.
 
Transportation
 
The majority of Queens residents drive, since it’s easier and faster to get around by car, although you can find everything you need within a five minute radius. Regular buses also serve the area, and residents can also easily take the bus to the ferry at Horseshoe Bay.
