Since South West Marine is a popular area with families, there are several educational establishments within its boundaries. Elementary schools in the area include McKechnie Elementary and Maple Grove Elementary, while David Lloyd Elementary and Sir Wilfrid Laurier Elementary are just outside the borders. Students living in South West Marine tend to attend Magee Secondary School. Private and independent institutions include Vancouver Montessori School and Glen Eden School.
 
Transportation
 
For residents that drive, South West Marine offers easy access to downtown Vancouver, with the nearby Highway 99 serving as a direct route to Yaletown and Coal Harbour to the north.
