The Lynn Valley neighbourhood is located on the western and upper reaches of North Vancouver, with Mount Fromme to the north, the Upper Levels Highway to the south, Lynn Creek to the east and Regent Drive in Princess Park to the west. The neighbourhoods surrounding Lynn Valley include Westlynn, Braemar and Tempe.
 
Demographic
 
An extremely family-friendly neighbourhood, Lynn Valley consists mainly of single-family detached households, with over 80% of people owning property and the remaining percentage renting.
 
Residential Housing
 
Most houses in Lynn Valley were built between the 1950s and 1970s, although many of the area’s houses have been redeveloped or heavily renovated, which accounts for most of the construction projects in the area. There are also a few townhouse developments and apartments in the area, particularly near the Lynn Valley Centre. Private cul-de-sacs are popular choices for new buyers. Recreation
 
A neighbourhood surrounded by nature and lush green spaces, Lynn Valley is the perfect place to raise a family and live an outdoor lifestyle. Lynn Canyon Park acts as Lynn Valley’s eastern border, which offers several hiking and nature trails, as well as a small suspension bridge. To the north is also Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, where residents can find more spots to hike, go on nature trails, and enjoy a family picnic. The neighbourhood’s south side is home to Kirkstone Park, a smaller green space with a soccer park and skate park. There is also a new library at Lynn Valley Centre if you’re not so keen on outdoor activities.
 
Restaurants
 
Lynn Valley offers plenty of family friendly dining options, with a local favourite being the Black Bear Neighbourhood Pub, a laid-back cabin with high ceilings that serves cold pints, brunch & Canadian fare with a twist. Other popular restaurants in the area include Browns Socialhouse and the Wonderful Szechuan Restaurant. Convenience food comes in the form of places including Valley Sushi, Freshslice Pizza, Big Bite Donair and Quiznos.
 
Shopping
 
Lynn Valley Centre and Lynn Valley Village are both conveniently accessed from this neighbourhood. With outlets including two major grocery stores, a liquor store, bakeries, meat market and garden centre, residents are spoilt for choice. The Lynn Valley Village is a popular patio meeting place for coffee, particularly in the summer, where it becomes home to a farmers market and outdoor summer concert series. At the foot of the Mountain Highway, you can also find Park & Tilford Shopping Centre, featuring a Save-On-Foods and Cineplex Theatre, among other amenities.
 
Schools
 
Lynn Valley has the highest number of schools of any community in the area, which reflects the community’s high proportion of families. Lynn Valley Elementary, Upper Lynn Elementary and Fromme Road Elementary are attended by younger children, while Argyle Senior Secondary is a popular choice for older students. The Cousteau Ecole Francaise Internationale is a private french school in Lynn Valley. All schools are part of the North Vancouver School District 44.
 
Transportation
 
The Lynn Valley area is readily accessible by car via the Highway 1 on the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge (previously known as the Second Narrows Bridge). A good TransLink bus service offering commuters connections to Vancouver and Lonsdale Quay also adds to the neighbourhood’s appeal. A community shuttle bus now also runs from the Lynn Valley Centre and Phibbs Exchange via Lynn Canyon Park.
