Location

Located between Mt Seymour Parkway and Dollarton Highway, Roche Point can be found on the east side of North Vancouver on the north shore of Burrard Inlet. Nearby neighbourhoods include Seymour Heights, Deep Cove and Indian River.
Demographic

Many Roche Point residents are homeowners, with approximately 82% owning property and 18% renting. The majority of households consist of one individual, or a couple, with families less common in this neighbourhood. The average resident is 41 years of age, with 36% of residents over 50.
 

Residential Housing

There is a wide range of housing available in the Roche Point neighbourhood, home to some of the most affordable (and some of the most expensive) homes in North Vancouver. Many houses are detached single-family homes, with a handful built between 1950 and 1970, but most development having occurred in the 1980s. Roche Point condos and townhouses have also become very popular in recent years, with developments such as The Signature Estates at Raven Woods built to suit this spectacular location, with many homes enjoying picturesque views of the Burrard Inlet. Recreation

One of the main attractions in the neighbourhood is Roche Point Park, located in the centre of the community, home to a soccer field and various other recreational activities. Another popular park is Cates Park, featuring lots of pedestrian walking paths and offering fabulous views of the downtown Vancouver skyline. Many homes are also located within walking distance of the beautiful Seymour Golf and Country Club, which has been an integral part of the North Vancouver and North Shore community since 1953. It’s a private club, but is open to the public on Mondays and Fridays. Roche Point is also just a stone’s throw away from Deep Cove, where residents can take advantage of its waterfront activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding and boating.
 

Restaurants

The closest and most convenient shopping area available to Roche Point residents is the Parkgate Village Shopping Centre, located on Mount Seymour Parkway features a wide range of restaurants as well as shops, with popular eateries including Kostas Taverna, Little Caesar’s Pizza, Genji Japanese Restaurant and Subway. Spots including Local Lift Juice Bar or Bean Around The World coffee shop are sure to quench your thirst after a long day of shopping. Nearby Deep Cove also features a wide selection of restaurants, pubs and cafes, including The Arms Reach Bistro, Cafe Orso, Honey’s Doughnuts, Deep Cove Pizza and Bluhouse Market & Cafe.
 

Shopping

As with restaurants, Parkgate Village Shopping Centre is home to various stores from grocery and convenience stores such as Safeway and Shoppers Drug Mart, to bakeries like Cob’s Bread and specialist stores such as Seymour Stationery. Many services also operate within the Centre including, Telio Hair Studio, The Sanctuary Esthetics Studio and Seymour Chiropractic. There is also a dental clinic, medical centre and veterinary clinic. Mount Seymour Parkway is also home to stores such as Fiddleheads Produce, Stop and Shop. If you’re looking to shop in Deep Cove, popular choices include jewelry store, Room6, clothing store A’hoy, and gift store, LaLa’s.
 

Schools

The Roche Point neighbourhood is home to two elementary schools and two high schools. Sherwood Park Elementary is located in the heart of the community, or Catholic students have the option of heading slightly north to attend Saint Pius X Elementary. Secondary schools include Windsor Secondary, located to the west in Windsor Park, and Seycove Secondary, located right at the corner of Mt Seymour Parkway and Dollarton Highway.
 

Transportation

The upper part of the Roche Point neighbourhood can be accessed via the Mount Seymour Parkway, and the lower part by Dollarton Highway. Each area has no through access to the other by car. Downtown Vancouver and other lower mainland neighbourhoods are easily accessible by a short scenic drive to the Second Narrows Bridge across Burrard Inlet. Of course, there are also plenty of walking trails, and regular buses serve the area as well.
