Altamont is a family-friendly neighbourhood, and its residents are within easy walking distance ofWest Bay Elementary and driving distance of Mulgrave School. Both schools boast the International Baccalaureate Program, making this school catchment one of the most desireable in West Vancouver. Other schools in the area include Caulfeild Elementary and Sentinel Secondary, both a 10 minute drive from Altamont. Nearby Capilano University offers academic studies and university transfer, career and vocational programs, and extension programs to students.
 
Transportation
 
If you prefer not to drive, Altamont is in the perfect location for bus access as it sits along a dedicated transit route. Leave your car at home and take the Blue Bus, part of West Vancouver’s own bus system. The 253 bus runs from Caulfeild Drive in the west to Park Royal in the east, before moving onto downtown Vancouver. Altamont residents can also easily take the bus to the ferry at Horseshoe Bay. With priority lanes, regular buses, community shuttles and frequent service, taking the bus is often faster than driving and what’s more, it’s kind to the environment!
