The addition of the SeaBus has reinvented this location making it the go-to place for indie shops and restaurants, including those at Lonsdale Quay, a bustling outdoor Friday-night market and First Nations art boutiques. Other popular shopping districts include Westview Shopping Centre, Capilano Mall and Lonsdale Avenue. The base of Lonsdale Avenue is home to two of the City’s most notable landmarks, The Pier and Shipbuilder’s Square. The Pier is a beautiful place for residents to wander slowly, take in remarkable views and enjoy the breeze off the ocean. Shipbuilders’ Square commemorates the thousands of men and women who worked in the shipyard from 1906 -1992. The shipyard has recently been transformed into a public space and event venue.
