Location
 
Queensbury is a centrally located neighbourhood in North Vancouver, located just minutes from the popular Lonsdale Quay, where residents can catch the ferry across to downtown Vancouver. Surrounding neighbourhoods include Calverhall to the east, Boulevard to the north, Lower Lonsdale to the west and the waterfront to the south.
 
Demographic
 
Many Queensbury residents are homeowners (71%), with 29% of residents renting property in the neighbourhood. Couples make up the majority of households, with individuals and families also making up a large proportion of residents. The average Queensbury resident is aged 39, with approximately 33% of residents between the ages of 30 and 49, and 32% of residents aged 50 and over.
 
Residential Housing
 
A hidden gem in North Vancouver’s real estate, you’ll be lucky to get your hands on a property in this neighbourhood, with typically only a handful of houses for sale at any given time. Many houses are single-family detached homes, with some residents lucky enough to be within walking distance to the water and the area’s commercial district. Nearby Boulevard Park features tennis courts and a soccer pitch for sports enthusiasts. Alternatively, you can hike through nearby Greenwood Park to visit ‘God’s Chair,’ a jutting of rock hidden away at the peak of the park. Other attractions include Lynn Canyon, just a 10 minute drive north, or Lonsdale Quay, which you can get to in under 10 minutes. Other nearby restaurants can be found in the Lonsdale area, including many eateries with waterfront locations around the Lonsdale Quay Market, such as Tap & Barrel, Burgoo Bistro, The District Brasserie, and The Lobby Restaurant at Pinnacle at the Pier. Further north along Lonsdale Avenue, residents can find a range of other restaurants and cafes, including Two Daughters Bakeshop, Fishworks, Thai House Restaurant, and West of Java.
 
Shopping
 
Queensbury Avenue is home to many of the neighbourhood’s popular stores and services, including Queensbury Market, Sprout Organic Market, The British Butcher Shoppe and the Mount Royal Bagel Factory. Additional shops are located along Brooksbank Avenue, such as Pet Food N More, and grocery store, Save-On-Foods. If you’re looking for an alternative grocery store, Real Canadian Superstore can be found on Seymour Boulevard. Queensbury residents can also enjoy the neighbourhood’s close proximity to Lonsdale area shops.
 
Schools
 
Ridgeway Elementary is the closest school to Queensbury, providing local children with classes from Kindergarten through to Grade 7. Other nearby schools include Brooksbank Elementary, and Sutherland Secondary, the school which most high school students attend.
 
Transportation
 
If you need to get to downtown Vancouver, it’s an easy commute across the Second Narrows bridge. The Seabus is also easily accessed from the Lonsdale Quay Market, running every 15 minutes on its regular schedule. Several buses also serve the area, and thanks to a wide variety of parks and trails, many amenities are also accessible via foot.
