If you love the outdoors and being close to nature, Cypress is home to a number of parks, including Caulfield Park, which is located just a few minutes to the west and which offers a beautiful forest trail and some of West Vancouver’s most beautiful sandy beaches. Cypress is also located close to Lighthouse Park, a 190-acre park that is almost completely covered in virgin rainforest. Lighthouse Park is home to the Point Atkinson Lighthouse, hence its name, as well as to Vancouver’s last remaining stand of first-growth Douglas fir tree.

Caulfeild Village Shopping Centre, located just two kilometres to the north, is home to various restaurants, including Italian restaurant, Pastameli and Mega Sushi, serving authentic Japanese cuisine, as well as featuring convenience stores like Cobs Bread, Subway and Starbucks. Other popular dining spots just a short drive away are Hugo’s on Eagle Harbour, featuring live music on Thursday nights, and Olive & Anchor, overlooking the stunning Horseshoe Bay.

As with restaurants, Caulfeild Village Shopping Centre is home to a variety of stores that can meet the needs of residents, whatever their preferences. Here, you’ll find the Canada Post, Starbucks, a pharmacy, and a bank, as well as a Safeway grocery store. A short journey along Marine Drive will also take you to IGA Marketplace.
 
Schools
 
Cypress is home to a variety of schools, with elementary schools including Caulfeild Elementary, Ridgeview Elementary, and Gleneagles Elementary. The main secondary school high school students attend is nearby Rockridge Secondary. Capilano University is a 20 minute drive from the Cypress neighbourhood.
 
Transportation
 
The majority of Cypress residents are car owners, since it’s easy and stress free to drive to surrounding areas, although the neighbourhood is also well-served by public transit if you travel by bus. Some places are also accessible by foot, and there are lots of bike lanes also.
