Location

The Champlain Heights neighbourhood is found in the furthest Southeast part of Vancouver, just north of the Fraser River, south of Killarney and west of Fraserview. The thriving River District is located south of Marine Way overlooking the Fraser River.

Recreation

Everett Crowley Park is one of Champlain Heights best draws, and is the fifth largest park inVancouver. As part of Earth Day celebrations, hundreds of new trees were planted there, giving residents the feeling of living in the countryside, while being so close to fantastic amenities this neighbourhood has to offer. Champlain Heights Community Centreis also a great spot for recreational activity in the community, featuring a modern fitness centre, squash, racquetball and even a preschool.

Restaurants

Champlain Square features a range of restaurants and cafes, with popular spots including 54th Ave Cafe, Sushi Go and Tasty Wok. Nearby Kinemi’s Kitchen isan Italian eatery located onChamplain Crescent, and popular with locals, and Romer’s Burger Baris situated at the trendy River District. A short drive away, you’ll also find a range of restaurants along Victoria Drive, including the popular Neighbour’s Restaurant and Pizza House, serving Italian-Greek comfort food, and spots along Marine Drive including White Spot, Flamingo Chinese Restaurant, Panos Greek Taverna and Super Dhaba Indian Cuisine. Champlain Squareis the main shopping district in Champlain Heights, home to over 45 shops and services, including banks, Extra Foods, Kin’s Market and Starbucks. Coming soon to the area is a Town Centre Plaza in the thriving new River District with various shops and services. Champlain Heights is also just t 15 minutes from Metropolis at Metrotown, giving residents access to one of Canada’s largest shopping complexes and almost every service they could need under one roof.

Schools

Champlain Heights is home to many schools, with elementary schools including Champlain Heights Elementary, Captain Cook Elementary, Suncrest Elementary and Champlain Heights Annex, often referred toby locals as‘the Little Red School on the top of the hill’. Also located inthe neighbourhood isKillarney Secondary School, the most popular school with high school students in the neighbourhood.

Transportation

Both East 49th Avenue and Marine Drive provide easy access in and out of the neighbourhood and to YVR airport, with major highways located south of the area. Vancouver’s Translink bus service also runs regularly along East 49th Avenue.
