A pretty neighbourhood, known for its spacious parkland and pedestrian trails, Princess Park is an entirely residential area with several cul-de-sacs, located just upwards of North Vancouver. Location
 
Situated in North Vancouver close to the Lynn Valley Centre and Upper Lonsdale, the Princess Park neighbourhood is bordered by Braemar on the north side, Lynn Valley on the east side, Tempe on the south side and Upper Lonsdale on the west side.
 
Demographic
 
The Princess Park neighbourhood is popular with families, who appreciate the close proximity to schools and recreational facilities. Approximately 79% of Princess Park residents are homeowners, with 21% renting. The majority of households contain four to five residents, with 62% of residents married and many having children who live with them. The majority of residents are over 50 years of age (38%), with 26% aged 30-49 and 23% aged 19 and under.
 
Residential Housing
 
The Princess Park neighbourhood is largely made up of graciously wooded cul-de-sacs, with housing types ranging from newer developments to refurbished character homes in a variety of pleasing designs. Recreation
 
The community is best known for its large park of the same name. Home to many hiking and walking paths that cut around its huge area, Princess Park is centrally located and a focal point for residents. As well as having tennis courts, dog-walking trails and a playground, the historic Hastings Creek, a tributary of Lynn Creek, runs through the park. The Laura Lynn Equestrian Centre is also located in the park and gives horse lovers who live in the community a place to barn their horse in a clean and affordable environment. Downtown Vancouver is also just a short commute across the Second Narrows Bridge, if you drive, or a quick jaunt on the seabus from the Lonsdale Quay, where you can find all the city’s main entertainment venues.
 
Restaurants 
 
Nearby Lynn Valley offers plenty of family friendly dining options, with a local favourite being the Black Bear Neighbourhood Pub, a laid-back cabin with high ceilings that serves cold pints, brunch & Canadian fare with a twist. Other popular restaurants in the area include Browns Socialhouse and the Wonderful Szechuan Restaurant. Convenience food comes in the form of places including Valley Sushi, Freshslice Pizza, Big Bite Donair and Quiznos.
 
Shopping
 
The nearest shopping districts to the Princess Park neighbourhood are Lynn Valley Centre and Lynn Valley Village. Here you can find two major grocery retailers, liquor stores, bakeries, a garden centre and more. The Lynn Valley Village is a popular patio meeting place for coffee, particularly in the summer, where it becomes home to a farmers market and outdoor summer concert series. Queensdale Market is also located nearby on Lonsdale Avenue, home to the very best organic and natural produce. Another option for residents is the Park & Tilford Shopping Centre located just west of Lynn Creek, home to a Save-On-Foods and Cineplex Theatre.
 
Schools
 
A popular area with families, Princess Park is surrounded by several prominent schools. The closest elementary school in the neighbourhood is Carisbrooke Elementary, a fantastic school, offering a vibrant selection of clubs and activities for students to enjoy at lunch. On the other side of the neighbourhood, Argyle Secondary School is the main high school for Princess Park students, providing education in a wide range of subjects, from the Digital Media Academy to the Co-Op Program. Carson Graham Secondary, which offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, is also located nearby on Jones Avenue. Private schools nearby include Brockton Preparatory School, with classes from K to 12, and Cousteau Ecole Francaise Internationale, a private french school in Lynn Valley.
 
Transportation
 
The Princess Park neighbourhood is easily accessible via Highway One on the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge. If you don’t drive, public transit is good in the area, with a regular bus service offering commuters connections to Vancouver and Lonsdale Quay for the Seabus. Of course, there are also plenty of walking and biking trails too.
