West Bay is comprised of approximately 8% children, 13% youth, 23% seniors and the rest adults, according to the West Vancouver website. The majority of the community is also comprised of English speakers, although the Asian population is growing.

There are various shopping areas located nearby, with the closest being Dundarave Village, located along Marine Drive and home to a large variety of shops and galleries, including convenience stores such as Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmasave, as well as RBC Royal Bank, Animal Medical Hospital and Dundarave Dental Clinic. Park Royal Shopping Centre, the primary shopping destination for most West Vancouver residents, is also just a 10 minute drive from the neighbourhood, offering a fashion-dominant north mall and a food- and service-oriented south mall. Visitors are spoilt for choice, with over 275 shops and services, from home furnishings stores like Anthropologie and Home Depot, to fashion and shoe stores, like Banana Republic, Roots and Vans.
 
Schools
 
A popular area for families, West Bay is best known for the popular West Bay Elementary School, which offers the IB program for students from kindergarten to grade seven. High school students in West Bay generally attend Rockridge Secondary School. There are also two private schools nearby, Mulgrave School and Collingwood School.
 
Transportation
 
If you drive, as many West Bay residents do, the neighbourhood is located close by to Highway One, allowing easy access to downtown Vancouver or north towards Squamish and Whistler. Various public transit routes serving the area also allow easy access to nearby neighbourhoods via bus.
