Location
Blueridge is located far enough from the city that you can still enjoy the peace and tranquility of a private life, without having to travel too far. Just twenty minutes from downtown Vancouver towards Highway 1, Blueridge is situated across the Second Narrows Bridge on the north side of the Mount Seymour Parkway.
Demographic
Most properties are detached, and 87% of people own their houses, while 13% rent. Most houses have between four and five occupants, and the average age of residents is 40 years, and 61% are married. In general, the average benchmark for properties is between $1 and 2 million.
Residential Housing
Blueridge is a family-friendly neighbourhood, mostly composed of single family homes, with views towards the south and southwest. This neighbourhood is full of little cul-de-sacs which offer a forested setting ideal environment for raising children.
Recreation
An excellent location for the outdoor sports enthusiast, Blueridge is surrounded by tonnes of green space, from forests and parks, to golf courses and country clubs. Mount Seymour is a 30 minute drive from the neighbourhood, where you can ski and snowboard to your heart’s content, (and if you can’t, they also offer snowshoes!) Northlands Public Golf Course and Seymour Golf and Country Club are both equidistant from Blueridge, offering golf enthusiasts wide stretches of lush greenery to play on. Other amenities include the Ron Andrews Rec Centre and the Ice Sports multi-rink complex, McCartney Creek Park, with a baseball diamond, tennis court and soccer field, and Canyon Creek Park, great for hiking. If you’re more of an indoors person, Parkgate Library, Community Centre and Shopping Centre are a short journey away.
Restaurants
Although dining spots tend to be limited in the Blueridge neighbourhood, it is central enough that outside restaurants are easy to get to. The Park and Tilford Shops and Gardens can be reached 10 minutes from Blueridge by car, where restaurants such as White Spot, Mumbai Masala Restaurant, and Vancouver’s first nanobrewery, Bridge Brewing Company can be found. Popular eateries at nearby Lynn Valley include Browns Socialhouse, and Yama Sushi, serving fine Japanese cuisine. There are also lots of coffee shops in the area, such as Delany’s Coffee House, Tommy’s Cafe and Waves Coffee House.
Shopping
The closest grocery store, Real Canadian Superstore is located a five minute drive from Blueridge, on Seymour Boulevard. There is also a Safeway a short drive away from the neighbourhood, on Mt Seymour Road, and a Save-On-Foods slightly further at the Park and Tilford Shops and Gardens. Both Park Royal shopping mall in West Vancouver and Capilano Mall, west of Blueridge are accessible in 15 minutes by car or transit.
Schools
Blueridge is in a great location for students, with area schools all within easy walking distance. The closest elementary schools are Blueridge Elementary and Seymour Heights Elementary, while Windsor Secondary School is a nearby high school. Capilano University is also a short drive from the neighbourhood, under 10 minutes away.
Transportation
Although most residents of the neighbourhood tend to get around by driving, the northern end of Blueridge is connected by foot to Lynn Valley by the well-known Baden-Powell Trail. This cuts across the top of the North shore from the eastern side of North Vancouver to the western side. Transit access is good and frequent in Blueridge.
