Arbutus is a popular neighbourhood with families, not only because of its safe streets, but because of its great schools. Both Carnarvon Elementary School and Trafalgar Elementary School are located in Arbutus, and accept children from kindergarten age through to grade 7, giving parents options for where they want to send their children. Prince of Wales Secondary School is located in the neighbourhood, and of course, UBC is located nearby too offering higher education options.
Arbutus is the 14th most walkable neighbourhood in Vancouver with a walk score of 70, meaning most errands can be accomplished by foot.
