Upper Delbrook is located at the bottom of the North Shore Mountains, with Forest Hills and Delbrook to the south, Canyon Heights and Grouse Woods to the west, Princess Park to the east and Mount Fromme to the north.

One of the highest points in North Vancouver, Upper Delbrook runs up to the edge of the mountain range that overlooks the city. Popular attractions in the neighbourhood include Grouse Mountain, great for skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking and mountain biking in the summer. Cypress and Seymour Mountains are also located nearby, both rich in all year outdoor adventure opportunities, and Lynn Canyon and Capilano Suspension Bridge are can also be reached by a short drive. There are also two large sports fields located at nearby Delbrook Park and William Griffin Park.
A variety of restaurants and cafes are located nearby to the Upper Delbrook neighbourhood, with popular choices including Woon Lee Inn Restaurant, serving Cantonese, Szechuan, Peking, and Vegetarian cuisine, Capilano Heights Chinese Restaurant, a veteran Chinese establishment featuring an abundant menu offering garden views, and Hamaei Japanese Restaurant, serving traditional Japanese cuisine. Nearby Edgemont Village is also home to popular restaurants such as The Canyon Restaurant and Nobu Sushi, as well as convenience food stores like BjornBar Bakery, Subway and CoCo Froyo.

Lonsdale Avenue is also located nearby, home to a number of local speciality stores including Blue Sky Clothing Company, North Shore Girl, On Top Bike Shop, and The Boardroom. The nearby Lonsdale Quay Market Centre is also home to a fresh food market, specialty shops, a kids’ play area, and a hotel and spa.
A family friendly area, Upper Delbrook is home to two schools within its borders, Braemar Elementary, and Mountainside Secondary, as well as being home to various daycares and preschools. Other nearby schools include Highlands Elementary, Cleveland Elementary, Handsworth Secondary, and Carson Graham Secondary.
If you drive, as many Upper Delbrook residents do, Delbrook Ave and Montroyal Ave are the two most direct routes onto Highway One. There are also bus routes that run along the main roads and take Upper Delbrook residents over to Lonsdale Quay and the surrounding areas.
