Listings in Mosquito Creek, North Vancouver For Sale (Page 2)

The City of North Vancouver is smallest and most urbanized of the North Shore municipalities. It has significant industry of its own including chemical production, shipping and film production. The marriage between urban life, industrial development, and accessible wilderness makes this a truly distinctive community. The area is one of the more expensive neighbourhoods in the Greater Vancouver area.

There are an abundance of townhouses and condominiums as opposed to single detached dwellings. Real estate prices typiically increase or hold steady, making the area very attractive for home owners and investors. Values are stable, vacancy rates are low, and the proximity to major amenities is excellent. The high population density has led to the development of many unique shopping districts. The historic heart of the area is Lower Lonsdale.

The addition of the SeaBus has reinvented this location making it the go-to place for indie shops and restaurants, including those at Lonsdale Quay, a bustling outdoor Friday-night market and First Nations art boutiques. Other popular shopping districts include Westview Shopping Centre, Capilano Mall and Lonsdale Avenue. The base of Lonsdale Avenue is home to two of the City’s most notable landmarks, The Pier and Shipbuilder’s Square. The Pier is a beautiful place for residents to wander slowly, take in remarkable views and enjoy the breeze off the ocean. Shipbuilders’ Square commemorates the thousands of men and women who worked in the shipyard from 1906 -1992. The shipyard has recently been transformed into a public space and event venue. Shipbuilders’ Square plays host to community stage concerts, farmers markets, buskers and general festivals which take place regularly throughout the exciting summer season.

The most notable attraction in the The North Shore area is the vast forests and available green space. The City of North Vancouver shares in this privilege with an abundance of parkland designed for cycling and walking. Residents can also strap on their ski boots and hit the slopes at Grouse Mountain or Mount Seymour. If snow is not desired, residents can dawn the latest swimwear and enjoy boating and swimming at the local beaches. Residents are always offered a vast array of local options for entertainment, but if travel is desired, the City of North Vancouver is connected to Downtown Vancouver by two highway bridges and the SeaBus. West to east travel can be remedied by using the Trans-Canada Highway which runs through the northern part of the city.
