Explore Cambie

One of Vancouver’s most in-demand neighbourhoods, Cambie has a real community feel, offering its residents numerous neighbourhood restaurants, shops and entertainment outlets. At the very heart of life in Vancouver, the area has changed somewhat in recent years with the construction of major housing and retail sites, in addition to the Canada Line transit system, bringing with it an influx of new residents. Come and take a closer look at this growing community.

Location

Locatedin the direct centre of Vancouver, the Cambie community is centrally located between the neighbourhoods of Main, Oakridge, Shaughnessy and Fairview. It runs from W 16th Avenue in the north, to W 41st Avenue in south, and Oak Street to the east and Ontario Street to the west.

Demographic

The Cambie neighbourhood is popular with first time home buyers, including young professionals and couples. The area is also popular with families, due to its reputability as a safe neighbourhood and close proximity to schools. Cambie’s proximity to Vancouver General Hospital also makes it a hub for health-care services and practitioners.

Residential Housing

In recent years, with an increasing number of businesses and retail sites, particularly at the south end of Cambie Street bridge, there have been a number of major housing developments. Closer to W 41st Avenue there has been a recent surge in the amount of Condos in Cambie being developed and constructed, with traditional multi-story homes and bungalows around the main stretch of the neighbourhood.
