South Granville hold the nickname ‘Gallery Row’ since it is home to more 25 art galleries, including Douglas Reynolds Gallery, Bau-Xi Gallery, Kurbatoff Art Gallery and Marion Scott Gallery. The neighbourhood boasts a retail district along Granville Street, which cuts through the middle of the neighbourhood, is a major destination for shopping in the city. Offering everything from a Safeway grocery store to beauty salons, décor shops and a liquor store, you’ll find everything you need in this part of town. A short distance away, you will also find the Oakridge Centre, home to popular stores including Aritzia, Banana Republic, The Body Shop and MAC Cosmetics, as well as the 41st and Cambie corridor of shops and one of Vancouver’s largest specialty liquor stores.

A popular area with families, South Granville is within easy access to a variety of schools. Elementary schools in the area include Maple Grove Elementary, McKechnie Elementary, Osler Elementary and Laurier Elementary, while secondary schools include Eric Hamber Secondary, Magee High School and Sir Winston Churchill Secondary. Private schools within a short driving distance include the prestigious York House, Crofton House and St. George Academy.
 
Transportation
 
With Granville Street bisecting the neighbourhood, residents in the neighbourhood have easy access not only to the downtown core but also Vancouver International Airport, Richmond and all points south. Public transport options in South Granville are also plentiful and frequent, with West 41st Avenue offering a quick and convenient route to UBC and Langara College.
