Situated around Taylor Way below the Upper Levels Highway, Sentinel Hill is located on a small mountain located right above Park Royal in the District of West Vancouver. A neighbourhood within walking distance to Ambleside Beach and all the amenities of Park Royal Shopping Center, Sentinel Hill is also located close to Lions Gate Bridge providing access to downtown Vancouver.
 
Demographic
 
Many Sentinel Hill residents are homeowners (87%), with 13% renting. Most households are occupied by couples or families, with residents under 19 years of age accounting for 21% of the neighbourhood’s population. People over the age of 50 make up 50% of the population, since the area is popular for retirees due to its private location. Approximately 56% of residents are married.

A popular area with families, Sentinel Hill is home to four public elementary schools: Westcot Elementary, Ridgeview Elementary, Hollyburn Elementary, and Ecole Cedardale, a French immersion school. There are also two public secondary schools, West Vancouver Secondaryand Sentinel Secondary. Private schools in the area include Mulgrave School and Collingwood School, popular for their highly acclaimed music and sports programs.
 
Transportation
 
If you drive, as many Sentinel Hill residents do, it’s easy to get from the neighbourhood to all major routes taking you to downtown Vancouver or towards Squamish and Whistler. Lions Gate Bridge is just a short journey from Sentinel Hill, as is the Upper Levels Highway. The neighbourhood is also well served by public transit, making catching a bus easy. With a walk score of 58, the neighbourhood is somewhat walkable, with some errands close enough to be accomplished by foot. There are also some bike lanes, although hills tend to be steep.
